Artist Statement: Lucy MacBrayne
I am a mixed media artist and teacher, madly in love with using a variety of mediums like collage, paint and mark making to create abstract, colourful and textured pieces. To me, mixed media art is perfectly imperfect, just like life. There are no such things as mistakes, only freedom to create many beautiful layers.
Inspired by our recent city status, this collection of Colchester Landmarks has been made by using upcycled paper, giving new life to vintage book pages and magazines.
Alongside making art, and running creative studio workshops, I am studying for a BA (Hons) Painting.

Artist Statement: Alexina Williamson
I am a self taught artist, working under the name PeggysPages, who fell in love with the endangered art of fore-edge painting after stumbling across it during the pandemic.
Painting second hand books as well as new releases helps me give back to the world of stories that gave me escape growing up and gives books a new lease on life.
Having obtained an MA in Publishing with Creative Writing, I am happy to have crafted my own career in books, hopefully helping to show future generations of book lovers that there is no one path into the world of publishing
