BEYOND PLACE; finding the sublime in the ordinary.
The works on display in this small exhibition are just a handful of my
responses to landscape where my starting point is initiated and inspired
by my views below.
I genuinely feel we are in danger of losing something fundamental to the
health of our physical, mental and spiritual lives if we fail to connect with
out there; the landscape we find around us. How can we know ourselves
if we do not connect? By the simple act of walking we connect with
landscape. Touching the land is atavistic, we remake a link with a
common past that accepted the wider view, all is one, the universe is not
about you.
No place is mundane, each has some magic to offer and rewards those
with time enough to pause and engage. I strongly believe one does not
need an exotic location to begin, it’s out there, in the most ordinary of
places, happening every day.
