We will learn from the ideas of the Reverse Engineering series and conversations with Sarah Hall, Tessa Hadley, George Saunders, Yiyun Li, Jon McGregor and many others, exploring how different writers follow their inspiration to inform their writing. We will then look into the different methods writers use to shape the raw material of a first draft, to hone the work to form the best version of itself, so that it “responds acutely to itself.
