Rebecca Welham is a former pupil of Chetham’s School of Music and the Purcell School.
She studied the cello with Leonid Gorokhov at the Royal College of Music, graduating in 2003. Rebecca has performed extensively in East Anglia. Her repertoire has included concerti by Elgar, Saint-Saens and Haydn, Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations & Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. Suffolk composer Peter Cresswell has written a cello concerto especially for her.
She has been awarded a number of prizes, including the Douglas Whittaker Prize for chamber music.
Rebecca teaches cello at Ipswich School and writes songs and ensemble works.
