Jane’s Walk ending at Red Lion Books with James Henry, author of ‘BLACKWATER’ at 4.30pm

Saturday May 5th at 4.30 pm

JANE’S WALK 10: ‘Inspired in Colchester’ – a trail celebrating writing set in and around Colchester through the ages, hearing stories in the streets where they were set.

To finish in RED LION BOOKS with a talk by JAMES HENRY at 4.30 pm.

About the book.

January 1983, Blackwater Estuary

A new year brings a new danger to the Essex shoreline. An illicit shipment, bound for Colchester – 100 kilograms of powder that will frantically accelerate tensions in the historic town, and leave its own murderous trace.

Lowry, Kenton and Gabriel must now develop a tolerance to one another, and show their own substance, to save Britain’s oldest settlement from a new, unsettling enemy.

This Janes Walk is led by Colchester author, Alex Clare.   MEET: 3pm at the Town Hall (1.5 hrs)

ACCESS: This walk is all on pavements/ paths with one small step up, plus a couple of medium-steep slopes. There will be regular rest points for readings and to collect writing prompts, most with benches, and an opportunity to use public toilets. We estimate the walk to be approximately three-quarters of a mile.
